Job summary

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) is seeking a Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations on commercial projects in Middle Georgia. You will lead the on-site team, manage subcontractors, monitor schedules, enforce safety standards, and ensure quality and budget adherence from mobilization through project closeout.

The role demands strong leadership, clear communication, and hands-on management.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent on commercial construction projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and managing complex project schedules.
  • Willingness to obtain OSHA 30 certification (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day field operations from mobilization through final completion.
  • Direct and coordinate subcontractors to maintain productivity, quality, and schedule.
  • Develop and maintain short- and long-term construction schedules with the Project Manager.
  • Plan daily/weekly work activities for efficient project execution.
  • Conduct daily jobsite walkthroughs to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
  • Enforce OSHA regulations and safety policies on site.
  • Lead weekly safety meetings and coordination meetings with subcontractors.
  • Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, and shop drawings for accurate installation.
  • Identify and resolve field issues before impacting schedules or budgets.
  • Coordinate inspections with owners, architects, engineers, and local authorities.
  • Monitor material deliveries and sequencing of work activities.
  • Maintain daily reports and project documentation using Procore or similar software.
  • Perform quality control inspections throughout construction phases.
  • Manage punch lists, final inspections, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Foster positive working relationships with owners, design teams, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Lead Commercial Construction Projects That Make a Difference

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations on commercial construction projects throughout Middle Georgia.

This is a hands‑on leadership role for a superintendent who takes pride in delivering high‑quality projects safely, on time, and within budget. You'll serve as the primary field leader, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining schedules, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring every project meets our expectations for quality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all day-to-day field operations from project mobilization through final completion.
  • Direct and coordinate subcontractors to maintain productivity, quality, and schedule.

  • Plan daily and weekly work activities to ensure efficient project execution.

  • Lead weekly safety meetings, toolbox talks, and subcontractor coordination meetings.

  • Coordinate inspections with owners, architects, engineers, and local authorities.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent on commercial construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction means and methods.
  • Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and managing complex project schedules.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and project documents.
  • Knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, quality control, and field coordination.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Project Managers and office staff.
  • Proficiency with Procore or similar construction management software is preferred.
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Valid driver's license
