Job summary

RWE Design Build is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead our projects with onsite oversight and daily coordination. The role requires managing schedules, coordinating with owners, architects, and subs, and ensuring safety and quality on site in Illinois and beyond.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of ground-up commercial experience, OSHA 30, Procore proficiency, and strong communication skills. Travel and valid US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent.
• Must have 5+ years of U.S. commercial ground-up experience.
• OSHA 30 certified.
• Experience with Procore.
• Must have reliable personal transportation.
• Must create initial schedule and review weekly with stakeholders.
• Strong technical, communication and computer skills (MS Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Knowledge of safety procedures, regulations and codes.
• Travel locally and nationally as required.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily logs, progress photos and weekly reports in Procore.
• Complete and submit all paperwork as required.
• Attend job meetings for timely completion of projects.
• Coordinate punch lists and project closeouts; schedule inspections.

Job description

RWE Design Build is looking for an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead our construction projects. This position requires the candidate to lead construction efforts and monitor the progression of schedules with frequent onsite check-ins at our office in Downers Grove, IL.

Responsibilities:

• Become familiar with and understand plans, specifications, site, local codes, local officials and inspection procedures
• Coordinate and maintain construction schedules to ensure projects are being completed according to drawings and specs
• Ensures quality standards are being met throughout the project
• Conduct meetings with subcontractor representatives of the project on a daily and/or weekly basis to schedule and coordinate construction activities
• Ensure materials are delivered to construction sites according to construction schedules
• Work with owners, owner’s reps, architects and subcontractors to resolve any conflicts that may arise and communicate any such conflicts immediately to the Project Manager
• Maintain daily logs, progress photographs and weekly reports into Procore
• Complete and submit all paperwork as required
• Attend job meetings and/or any other meetings as may be required for the successful and timely completion of the project(s)
• Compile and schedule punch list items for completion as well as coordinate project closeouts
• Schedule and attend all required inspections

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent
• MUST HAVE 5+ YRS OF U.S. COMMERCIAL GROUND UP EXPERIENCE
• OSHA 30 Certified
• Experience with Procore
• Must have reliable personal transportation
• Must currently create an initial schedule for the project and review weekly with sub-contractors, PMs, and all Stakeholders
• Must possess strong technical, communication and computer skills, including competency with MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and document management systems
• Knowledge of safety procedures, regulations and codes
• Local and National travel is required for this position
• An ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas: ground-up construction, additions, interior remodels, design build, carpentry
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
