Job summary

TRANTEK INC is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Technician in Austin, Texas, to support large-scale commercial construction projects, particularly data centers. This hands-on leadership role involves leading the installation and quality control of electrical systems, coordinating with various contractor teams, and guiding junior technicians. The ideal candidate should have over 8 years of commercial electrical experience, a strong knowledge of MEP coordination, and preferably hold a Texas master electrical license.

• Strong working knowledge of MEP coordination and construction sequencing.
• Proficient with testing equipment and field documentation.
• Leadership experience mentoring crews and driving daily progress.
• Valid Texas master electrical license strongly preferred.

Overview

Experienced senior-level electrical technician to support MEP systems in large-scale commercial construction projects. Data center experience strongly preferred. Hands‑on leadership role focused on installation, coordination, quality control, and field execution of electrical systems within integrated MEP environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, controls, and low‑voltage infrastructure.
• Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, and general contractor teams to ensure seamless MEP integration and clash‑free execution.
• Interpret and redline construction drawings, schematics, and BIM/Revit models in the field.
• Oversee junior technicians, enforce safety protocols, and maintain project schedules.
• Perform system inspections, troubleshoot issues, and verify compliance with NEC, local codes, and project specifications.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and closeout documentation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of commercial electrical experience; data center projects highly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of MEP coordination and construction sequencing.
• Proficient with testing equipment, terminations, panel schedules, and field documentation.
• Leadership experience mentoring crews and driving daily progress.

Compensation: $90,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
