Job summary

Graham Construction, a 3G Company, is seeking an estimator/construction professional to manage staff and resources for estimating and preconstruction to ensure quality budgets for clients. You will develop conceptual budgets, takeoffs, and value engineering options while maintaining relationships with clients and partners.

This onsite role requires travel within IA/NE/WI regions, posting strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to lead effective meetings and collaborate

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of construction estimating experience.
• Associate’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience with Sage Estimating, On-Screen Takeoff, Modelogix, and Bluebeam preferred.
• Understanding of preconstruction: Schematic Design and Design Development.
• Knowledge of product and labor costs and timelines for budgets.
• Strong estimating, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead meetings and communicate professionally with project teams and stakeholders.
• Strong customer service and ability to build positive relationships.
• Self-starter; work well independently and in a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual budgets, estimates, schedules, and proposals.
• Complete and organize quantity takeoffs.
• Review labor, material, and trade partner costs for accuracy.
• Solicit bids from trade partners and suppliers.
• Review bid documents and scopes for cost alignment.
• Assess project documents for potential issues.
• Review designs for constructability and provide feedback.
• Develop and present value engineering options.
• Participate in budget reviews and project development meetings.
• Maintain cost history and estimating data for future budgets.
• Keep estimates within client budgets and manage expectations.
• Assist with bidding and project handoff.
• Communicate with clients, architects, engineers, and partners.
• Maintain relationships with current and past customers.
• Identify and communicate potential opportunities.
• Attend industry association events and networking.
