We are in search of a seasoned Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of commercial construction projects, ensuring that all cost estimates, financial analysis, and budgeting are accurate and aligned with the project's goals. This role is integral to our success, and we are seeking a professional who can work collaboratively with our project managers, engineers, and construction crews to deliver quality results on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive, detailed project cost estimates and proposals for commercial construction projects.
• Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Conduct site visits and gather all necessary data to prepare accurate and competitive bids.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to understand and manage project expectations.
• Analyze and evaluate subcontractor proposals and bids for fairness, feasibility, and adherence to technical and financial specifications.
• Prepare and present cost summary reports to senior management, highlighting key project metrics, potential risks, and opportunities for cost savings.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, cost fluctuations, and technological advancements to ensure accuracy in estimates.
• Negotiate and finalize contracts with vendors and subcontractors to ensure the best possible terms.
• Continually review and monitor project progress, updating estimates and budgets as needed.
  
  

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Commercial Construction Estimator, producing conceptual and hard bid estimates
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience with commercial construction estimating, including a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Proficient in using construction management and estimating software, such as On-Screen Takeoff.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable contract terms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members at all levels.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of current market trends, pricing, and familiarity with building codes and legislation.
• Professional certification in estimating or a related field will be considered an advantage.
