Job summary

WEX Inc. in South Portland, ME is seeking a Recovery Agent to manage a portfolio of moderately complex, past-due business accounts. You will leverage standard collections techniques to secure payments, educate clients on terms, and maintain strong relationships while adhering to FDCPA and internal policies.

The role emphasizes accuracy, process improvement, and using automation to enhance speed and efficiency in daily tasks, with a focus on meeting weekly and monthly performance targets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 2-3 years of direct experience in high-volume, complex B2B or commercial collections.
• Foundational understanding of the FDCPA or similar collections compliance frameworks.
• Comfortable utilizing standard software platforms and learn core enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily inbound and outbound communication channels with delinquent commercial customers to cure past-due debt and secure immediate payments.
• Educate customers on account terms and conditions and resolve complex delinquent balances.
• Monitor shared inboxes and resolve payment inquiries and disputes accurately and timely.
• Document all touchpoints and payment commitments in the collections system of record.
• Negotiate routine payment arrangements within established guidelines and authority matrices.
• Identify billing errors or disputes and route to appropriate internal departments to clear roadblocks.
