Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, supplemented by vocational or technical training in a construction/mechanical or related field.
• Official transcript may be required for degrees/course work used to qualify for this position.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license and trade certification as required by position assignment.

Responsibilities

• Inspects new and existing properties for code compliance related to building, grading, zoning, and safety laws and issues citations or violation notices for non-compliance.
• Inspects residential properties for conformance to codes, regulations, plans, specifications, and standards related to foundations, framing, electrical, plumbing, access, life safety, energy compliance, and other elements.
• Develops and maintains inspection files and logs; prepares reports and requests for progress payments.
• Responds to questions from the public regarding inspection schedules and results; assists prosecuting entity with court cases.
