Job summary

Automated Mechanical in Utah is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Technician/Chiller Technician to join our service team. You will diagnose, repair, and optimize a wide range of commercial HVAC systems and building automation across facilities, with focus on safety and quality workmanship.

You will work independently, mentor apprentices when possible, and communicate clearly with customers about findings and next steps. We offer a company vehicle, benefits, PTO, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• EPA 608 Universal Certification.
• 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience.
• Experience with BAS/DDC controls platforms.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting across low and high voltage.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and access mechanical rooms, rooftops.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair all types of commercial HVAC equipment.
• Commission and start up chiller and controls systems, optimizing for peak efficiency.
• Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on chillers, cooling towers, pumps, boilers, and supporting equipment.
• Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
• Keep accurate, timely documentation of all service work, repairs, and recommendations.
• Communicate clearly with customers about system conditions, findings, and next steps.
• Adhere to all safety requirements, EPA standards, and internal company policies.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and junior technicians when applicable.
