Job summary

Centralmechanical is a full-service HVAC contractor offering building automation, chillers, and retrofit solutions. This role focuses on maintaining and repairing central plant equipment, including large chillers, cooling towers, and related systems, with on-call emergency coverage and end-to-end testing and commissioning responsibilities.

Ideal candidates have journeyman-level experience with technical schooling, EPA certification, and strong communication skills to support on-site operations

Qualifications

• 5 years of work experience at the journeyman level and technical schooling.
• Commercial/Industrial air conditioning experience required.
• Knowledge of Chiller, HVAC, and Central Plants.
• HVAC large tonnage field knowledge is required.
• Must be available for emergency service calls on rotation.
• EPA certified.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair central plant equipment, including chillers 100 tons and larger, motors, pumps, valves, controls, cooling towers, vane axial fans, and other auxiliary equipment.
• Overhaul of centrifugal chillers a plus.
• Support the office with recommended repairs from delivery to completion.
• Availability for emergency service calls on-call through normal rotation.
• Responsible for end-to-end testing, programming, start-ups, and commissioning.
• Schedule and manage site-wide maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair duties for chillers, cooling towers, and central plant equipment.
• Perform daily and monthly preventive maintenance on all associated equipment of chillers, cooling towers, and central plant equipment.
