Job summary

Philadelphia Commercial, a Shaw Industries subsidiary, is seeking a Carpet Designer to drive innovative soft surface flooring concepts for commercial projects. You will translate trends into market-ready patterns, manage multiple concepts, and coordinate with Marketing, Manufacturing, and Sales to ensure timely launches.

You will work in a hybrid setup, four days per week in Dalton, GA, collaborating with global partners to deliver products that meet performance and aesthetic goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Textile Design, Product Design, or related design discipline.
• 2–5+ years of professional design experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of commercial flooring, tufting construction methods, pre-dyed yarn development, dyeing techniques, and pattern development.
• Ability to leverage expertise to develop innovative product concepts, patterns, and color solutions for commercial flooring.
• Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
• Ability to translate design trends and customer insights into commercially successful products.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments and global partners.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative soft surface flooring concepts aligned with brand strategy and multi-year product roadmap.
• Create product visuals, color palettes, and pattern concepts from inspiration through manufacturing and launch.
• Apply market research and customer insights to develop commercially relevant flooring solutions.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Marketing, Innovation, Product Development, and Sales to ensure design intent is maintained through development and production.
• Support development of marketing materials, customer presentations, product photography, and merchandising tools.
• Present product concepts and design to leadership, customers, sales teams, and external partners.
• Participate in customer tours, VOC sessions, focus groups, NeoCon, and other events to gather insights and validate direction.
• Manage multiple projects and meet development milestones and launch schedules.
• Demonstrate sound judgment, adaptability, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
