Job summary

BMO Financial Group in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Credit Analyst to analyze credit information, assess client creditworthiness, and support lending decisions for a Commercial Banking portfolio.

You will prepare credit summaries, monitor portfolio performance, and help structure loans that fit client needs while adhering to bank policies and risk appetite. Strong analytical skills and financial acumen are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Business Administration, Finance and Accounting preferred.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in credit or lending instruments or financial operations in a corporate or banking environment.
• Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes credit information to support lending decisions and processes for Commercial banking loans and credit solutions.
• Performs financial analysis and calculations, assesses client creditworthiness, prepares detailed credit summaries, analyses financial performance and risk profiles of clients within the portfolio.
• Supports credit-granting decisions by making recommendations to manager.
• Supports the negotiation of loan terms and conditions and the structuring of loans that align with client requirements and ensure compliance with risk policies.
• Monitors portfolio performance for assigned clients and ensures accuracy and integrity of loan documentation.
• Builds and maintains client relationships to enhance long-term financial performance in collaboration with Relationship Manager and partners.
• Identifies revenue and cross-selling opportunities to grow the portfolio.
• Leverages analysis tools to nurture a portfolio that aligns with ROE targets.
