Salary: $100,000 - $140,000

JOB OVERVIEW

The Commercial Asset Manager (CAM) is a key member of the Asset Management team, primarily supporting the financial and compliance asset management functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing financial and operational performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and managing stakeholder relationships to maximize asset value.

JOB LOCATION AND REPORTING TO

This position can be based in either our New York City or San Francisco office, or remotely for the right candidate. The CAM reports to the Director of Commercial Asset Management and collaborates with teams across the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Financial Performance and Reporting
  • Manage P&L of energy assets, including budgeting, variance analysis, and value creation strategies.
  • Maintain relationships with external financial counterparties and ensure compliance with financing agreements.
  • Establish annual project budgets and oversee cash flow management and forecasting.
  • Review actuals against budgets, waterfall models, and support financial analyses, including tax equity buyouts and refinancing.
  • Handle customer billing reconciliations and address billing or system performance inquiries.
  • Lead asset management team in revenue and expense accruals.
Commercial Operations and Compliance
  • Prepare and review key project contracts.
  • Collaborate on onboarding assets into the platform for proper management transition.
  • Maintain and monitor compliance tools for contractual and financial requirements.
  • Assess causes of asset underperformance in collaboration with team members.
  • Manage contractual REC obligations and relationships.
  • Oversee insurance programs and claims management.
  • Manage Community Solar program.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
  • Provide input on financial models for new projects.
  • Support transition from Construction to Operations.
  • Ensure compliance with project agreements, incentives, and regulations.
  • Maintain insurance reporting and assist with financial audits.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 3 years of asset management experience in renewable energy.
  • Highly organized with excellent communication and attention to detail.
  • Proven data analysis skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree with strong academic record.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Creative, flexible, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Interest in working in a growing renewable energy company.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Primarily sedentary work requiring prolonged sitting and occasional travel to sites.
