Job summary

Starcom Worldwide, Inc. in New York is seeking a Commerce Search Manager to lead the client’s Amazon growth strategy and oversee a dedicated team driving commerce initiatives.

You will supervise campaigns, optimize spend, and provide actionable insights across major marketplaces, including AMS/AMG and on-site advertising, while collaborating with leadership to scale client outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred, in marketing, advertising, business, engineering, statistics, economics, sociology, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of media management experience focusing on Commerce platforms.
  • 1+ years hands-on experience managing and optimizing Commerce-based media buys.
  • Experience with Amazon and Walmart.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the daily workflow of all Commerce campaigns, including proposal development, activation, maintenance, and post-buy recaps.
  • Oversee AMS Paid Search/Sponsored Product Listings and AMG services such as on-site display advertising.
  • Become a Commerce subject matter expert for internal and external participants.
  • Partner with the Associate Director to build end-to-end ecommerce strategy and plans.
  • Collaborate with team to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Adapt quickly to ambiguity and shifting client needs.
  • Identify client needs and deliver creative solutions.
  • Analyze patterns and trends to inform strategy and optimization.
  • Provide performance reporting against client goals with insights.
  • Develop budgets and projections for testing new partners or technology.
  • Conduct monthly client billing audits.
  • Improve workflow processes across Starcom and with vendors.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendor partners.

Overview

The Commerce Search Manager is responsible for building and maintaining an effective and productive relationship with assigned client(s). The Manager will supervise a dedicated team in the creation, optimization, and execution of client's Commerce initiatives. This position requires a “hands‑on” manager with astute attention to process and detail, who possesses the ability to apply this detailed knowledge to actionable insights and recommendations. Particularly as they relate to the client's Amazon growth and acceleration strategy. The Manager must have experience with major online marketplaces and related tools. Thisposition is both strategic and tactical in scope and requires the ability to apply detailed Commerce knowledge to actionable insights and recommendations. They will assist the Associate Media Director and Director in driving strategic success within the team as well as helping to develop innovative strategies to meet and exceed client business objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage the daily workflow of all Commerce campaigns, including proposal development, campaign activation & maintenance, and post-buy recaps
  • Assistin overseeing the client's strategy and growth ofAmazon Marketing Services (AMS) Paid Search/Sponsored Product Listings as well as Amazon Media Group (AMG) services such as on-site display advertising andAAP
  • Become a Commerce subject matter expert for internal and external participants by staying ahead of Commerce trends
  • Partner with Associate Director to build end-to-end ecommerce strategy and plans for theclient
  • Collaborate with direct reports, colleagues, and peers across the organizationto provide insight andrecommendations
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and quickly adjusts thinking and actions should the realities of a situationshift
  • Drawing onpreviousexperiences, uses a variety of approaches toidentifyclient needs and exceeding theirexpectations
  • Understands the complex cause and effect patterns that may underlie issues and/or opportunities and thinks beyond the obvious
  • Identifypatterns and trends that relate to a particular situation and uses that knowledge tocome up withcreativesolutions
  • Provides performance reporting against client goalswithinsights and optimization recommendations
  • Develop budget and performance projections for testing new partners or technology
  • Conduct monthly client billingaudits
  • Partner with Associate Director to develop processes for improved workflow within Starcom and between agency partners and vendors
  • Maintain stellar relationships with the vendor partners to further advance Starcom as a preferred clientpartner
  • Provide formal training to new teamemployees
  • Work to master,identify, and communicate trends in search and in clientindustries
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred, preferably in marketing, advertising, business, engineering, statistics, economics, sociology, or equivalent
  • 2+ years of media management experience with an emphasis on Commerce platforms
  • 1+ years hands‑on experience managing and optimizing Commerce‑based media buys
  • Experience with Amazon and Walmart
  • Experience with Instacart, DoorDash, Uber Eats and Criteo are not required but a plus
  • Experience in applying search to brand‑building & direct responseinitiatives
  • Strong analytics, organizational, and communication skills
  • Previousleadership/management experience ispreferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diversegroups
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office including Exceland PowerPoint as well as other equivalent programs and asappropriate specificindustry tools andtechnology
  • A proven ability to multi-task and manage multipleprojects effectively and work well under pressure to deliver high-qualitywork within tightdeadlines
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solvingabilities with the ability to think unconventionally in proposing solutions.

Compensation Range: USD $75,050.00 - USD $107,835.00/Annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third‑party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
