Job summary

Grambling State University seeks an experienced primary advisor to the Executive Level for Associates and Residential Advisors within its JCP program. You will supervise the Residential Advisors, coordinate staffing, and guide training and evaluation processes.

The role requires Advanced Leadership Course or equivalent, strong communication skills, and experience with educational/training programs, with emphasis on at‑risk youth. This is an in-person, non-remote position in Louisiana.

Qualifications

• Advanced Leadership Course (ALC) or civilian equivalent preferred for applicants interested in the Commandant position.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
• Experience working with Educational and/or Training Programs preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in working with at-risk youth preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise Executive Level on Associates and Residential Advisor issues.
• Direct line supervisor of the Residential Advisors Department (1 Assistant Commandant; 4 Residential Advisor II Supervisors).
• Manage staffing, scheduling and training calendars; track drills and annual training dates.
• Review payroll documentation and conduct disciplinary actions when needed.
• Develop staff through counseling, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
