POSITION OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Refrigeration Technician Helper to join our fast-growing Select Team. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills, as well as a high level of customer service.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the installation, assembly, and commissioning of commercial refrigeration systems
  • Help with routine maintenance tasks
  • Preform inspections under the supervision of senior technicians to identify issues or potential failures
  • Learn to use diagnostic tools, including pressure gauges, multimeters, and thermometers
  • Communicate with Dispatch to ensure completion of scheduled jobs
  • Provide elite customer service to every customer encountered
  • Perform all jobs with safety first in mind
  • Attend on-the-job and formal training sessions to gain knowledge of refrigeration systems, components, and technologies

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Continual learning and development in the body of knowledge through FirstCall Academy, to ensure we set the bar for skill level in the industry
  • Elite level of customer service, to ensure we continue to be the FirstCall our customers make for their HVAC needs

ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT

This position reports to the local Branch Manager and is responsible for engaging with the service team and all of our customers.

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver License w/acceptable driving record
  • Active EPA Certification preferred
  • OSHA 10 is preferred
  • Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems is a plus
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities

BEHAVIORAL PROFILE

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal numbers. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
