Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. seeks a Combustion Engineer to design, implement, and optimize combustion systems across galvanizing facilities.

You will lead projects from concept through commissioning, working with operations and contractors to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 3 years in manufacturing/industrial engineering, and PLC-based control and automation experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
• 3 years of work experience in a manufacturing/industrial engineering position.
• Experience with PLC-based combustion control systems and industrial automation.
• Capable of performing energy balances, mass balances, and related thermodynamic or heat transfer calculations.
• Strong communication skills to present information to management.
• Able to work effectively alone and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, optimize, and troubleshoot combustion systems across facilities.
• Initiate and maintain procedures for tuning, optimization, and testing to improve fuel efficiency and quality.
• Troubleshoot combustion, process heating, and thermal systems in manufacturing.
• Develop designs, specifications, P&IDs, calculations, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and engineering consultants during projects.
