Job summary

O-I Glass in Seattle seeks a Combustion Engineer to optimize glass melting furnaces, improve energy efficiency, and support safe manufacturing operations on the plant floor.

You will analyze furnace data, lead preventative maintenance, and collaborate with production and quality teams to meet targets while adhering to environmental regulations. A Bachelor's in a related field is preferred, with 3–5 years of manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• Experience scheduling preventative maintenance.
• Experience with environmental regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with SAP highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and efficient operating conditions of glass melting furnaces.
• Ensure optimal energy consumption and proper burner set‑up (flame geometry, length, overall profile).
• Ensure furnace conditions are within prescribed parameters through daily inspections.
• Review furnace data on a daily basis and make adjustments as needed.
• Assist in managing production targets.
• Support continuous improvement and elimination of waste through ongoing analysis and identification of inefficiencies.
• Assist with troubleshooting problems within the manufacturing process.
