Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking a Combo Welder for a maintenance position in Axis, AL. The Welder lays out, fits, and welds fabricated components to assemble tanks, vessels, pipes and related structures.

Non-exempt role; reports to the Foreman and adheres to procedures with ongoing quality checks. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, 4+ years of welding experience, the ability to pass a weld test, and welder certification, plus post-offer screenings and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required.
• Minimum four (4) years of experience in welding.
• Must pass weld test before hiring.
• Must be certified as a welder.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen, physical eval, and policy acceptance.
• Comply with safety requirements at company and client sites.
• Must not pose a direct health/safety threat in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly and welding.
• Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components for welding.
• Bolts, clamps, tack welds parts to secure for welding.
• Sets up equipment and welds parts.
• May assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
• May weld pipe and various materials by arc, heliarc, gas, mig or tig.
