Job summary

SAFEbuilt is seeking a Combination Building Inspector for Peachtree City, GA. You will perform daily field inspections of residential, commercial and public facility projects, review plans for code compliance, and provide interpretations of standards.

The role requires ICC inspector certifications, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication and recordkeeping. Office and field work with regional travel is involved.

Qualifications

• ICC Inspector certifications in multiple trades required.
• 3+ yrs of field experience interpreting codes and providing code compliant solutions.
• Ability to explain technical information to staff, contractors, and the public.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with different editions of the International Building Codes.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily field inspections of residential, commercial and public facility construction projects.
• Interprets and explains code requirements to staff and the public.
• Reviews building plans and calculations for compliance with codes.
• Maintains accurate inspection records and enters results into permitting software.
• Coordinates inspections and travels between sites within the region.
