Job summary

Horizontal Talent is seeking a Software Integration Engineer to join our engineering team. You will integrate software with hardware on Linux-based platforms for combat vehicle systems and test across Ethernet/CAN networks.

The role involves building testbeds, scripting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to verify solutions. You will work hands-on with Red Hat Linux environments, manage RPMs, and support drivers and libraries while communicating findings to customers and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field is required.
• Experience with Linux-based software integration and testing.
• Experience integrating software on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Ability to work with hardware/software integration in a testing environment.
• Familiarity with Ethernet and CAN bus protocols.
• Proficiency with Git, Jira or GitLab for configuration management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Integrate and test software applications running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
• Support the integration of hardware modules and software components within a combat vehicle system.
• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot software and hardware integration testbeds.
• Work with Ethernet and CAN bus technologies to investigate and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with engineering and test teams to analyze problems and verify solutions.
• Perform scripting, networking, cybersecurity hardening, and related system checks as needed.
• Package software into RPMs and binary executables, and support drivers and libraries.
• Contribute to software verification testing and ensure solutions meet performance and quality expectations.
