Job summary

Petroleum Marketing Group in Columbia, SC is seeking a customer-oriented store associate to greet customers, operate a cash register, and keep the sales floor clean and organized. You will help with merchandising, daily tasks, and provide exceptional service while following PMG standards.

The role requires reliable transportation, flexibility in scheduling, and the ability to lift, stand, and bend. Training is provided to ensure safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or currently enrolled, or equivalent experience.
• 1+ year of customer service or retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers and delivers exceptional service.
• Operates cash register according to PMG standards.
• Executes daily store tasks with speed and accuracy.
• Merchandises sales floor and stock areas.
• Merchandises coolers and maintains presentation.
• Conducts vendor check-ins as needed.
• Communicates daily issues to Management.
• Adheres to PMG safety and operational procedures.
• Maintains cleanliness inside and outside the store.

Candidate meets and exceeds customer expectations on an ongoing basis. To ensure every customer has been provided an exceptional experience, candidate must work with their team members and provide support to Management, to complete all store level tasks related to customer service, merchandising, daily cleaning, cash register duties, and other related tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide an exceptional experience on an ongoing basis
• Operate cash register, according to PMG standards, surrounding cash handling, record keeping, lottery management, and shift paperwork
• Execute daily store tasks with speed, accuracy, and efficiency
• Sales Floor Merchandising/Stocking
• Cooler Merchandising
• Vendor Check-Ins
• Communication of daily issues/challenges with Management
• Ensure PMG policies and procedures surrounding Safety and Operational Excellence are executed
• Perform work with Integrity, Honesty, and Respect
• Support Management with other assigned tasks
• Exterior/Interior Cleaning

Education
