Job description

Our independent production is seeking a talented Colorist to join our post-production team for an upcoming sci-fi short film. This project is a visually driven, atmospheric piece exploring themes of isolation and discovery in a near-future setting. We've shot with a keen eye for evocative cinematography and now need a skilled colorist to bring our vision to its full potential, enhancing the mood and narrative through expert grading. Key responsibilities include collaborating with the director and cinematographer to establish and refine the visual aesthetic, creating multiple looks for different scenes, and delivering final color-corrected masters. We're looking for someone who can work creatively and efficiently, with a strong understanding of color theory and cinematic grading techniques. Applicants should have experience with DaVinci Resolve or similar professional coloring software, a keen eye for detail, and a portfolio or reel demonstrating their color grading work. While previous experience on shorts is a plus, all experience levels are welcome. Post-production is scheduled to begin in mid October 2026, with an estimated 3-5 days of dedicated color work. Work can be done remotely, though in-person sessions in Los Angeles, CA may be required for final approvals. Compensation is $500-800 per day, dependent on experience and scope. Please provide your reel and availability.
