Licensed Colorist

Licensed Colorists at Madison Reed Hair Color Bar are essential to our guest promise, delivering quality services and excellent guest care. You love beauty and hair color, and pride yourself on helping guests find the best color for them and executing their service with perfection.

You will be the expert on Madison Reed consultations, hair care products, blowout services, unlimited roots memberships, and connecting with guests and team members to foster a friendly, focused work environment. You will meet the demands of a busy day by knowing your targets, planning to meet them, keeping the environment clean and organized, building relationships, and supporting each other. #livelifecolorfully

This role reports to the Manager and can be full or part-time based on business needs. Availability at peak times is required to best serve our guests.

Responsibilities:

• Provide a guest experience aligned with our values of Love, Joy, Trust, Courage, and Responsibility, demonstrating teamwork skills.
• Perform consultations and all services on the menu, including shampooing, conditioning, styling, and chemical services, ensuring high quality and guest satisfaction.
• Assist guests in selecting the best products and colors, while staying flexible and punctual with bookings.
• Contribute to achieving sales goals and key performance indicators such as retail sales, services, and memberships.
• Maintain cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and security standards at the Hair Color Bar.
• Follow protocols related to Madison Reed systems, policies, processes, and procedures.
• Increase revenue by promoting additional services, memberships, subscriptions, and hair care products.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on MR products and services.
• Support and train Assistant Colorists through demonstration, coaching, and mentorship.

Physical Demands: Standing, walking, bending, twisting, manipulating fingers and hands, reaching, and occasionally sitting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to ten pounds. Regular communication with guests through conversations and consultations is expected.

Qualifications:

• Active cosmetology license in the state of application.
• At least 1 year of experience as a colorist in a salon environment.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills in a fast-paced setting.
• Comfortable operating point of sale systems.
• Fluent in English.
