Licensed Colorist

Licensed Colorists at Madison Reed Hair Color Bar are an essential part of our guest promise, delivering quality services and excellent guest care. You love beauty and hair color, and you pride yourself on helping guests find the best color for them and executing their service with perfection.

The role involves meeting the demands of a busy day by knowing targets, planning to meet them, maintaining a clean and organized environment, building relationships, and supporting each other. #livelifecolorfully

This role reports to the Manager and can be full or part-time depending on business needs. Availability during peak times is required to best serve our guests.

Responsibilities:
  1. Demonstrate teamwork skills to provide a guest experience aligned with our values of Love, Joy, Trust, Courage, and Responsibility.
  2. Provide consultations and all services offered on the menu, including shampooing, conditioning, styling (blow drying, flat ironing, curling), and chemical services, ensuring high-quality standards and 100% guest satisfaction.
  3. Attend to guest needs to help select the best products and colors, while staying flexible to business needs and punctual for bookings.
  4. Contribute to achieving monthly sales goals and other KPIs, including retail sales, services, and memberships.
  5. Maintain cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and security standards of the Hair Color Bar.
  6. Follow protocols regarding Madison Reed systems, policies, processes, and procedures.
  7. Increase revenue through additional services, memberships, subscriptions, and product sales.
  8. Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on Madison Reed products and services.
  9. Support the training and development of Assistant Colorists through demonstration, coaching, and mentorship.

Physical Demands: Regularly standing and walking for over four hours, repetitive bending and twisting, manipulating fingers and hands, reaching with arms, and lifting up to ten pounds. Occasional sitting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting or pushing/pulling up to ten pounds. Communicating regularly with guests through conversations and consultations.

Qualifications:
  1. Active cosmetology license in the state of application.
  2. At least 1 year of experience as a colorist in a salon environment.
  3. Effective communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Comfortable operating point-of-sale systems.
  5. Fluent in English.
