Assistant Colorist, Hair Color Bar

The Assistant Colorist at Madison Reed Hair Color Bar supports Licensed Colorists and the Shift Lead to provide a seamless guest experience from arrival to departure. This role involves learning the services offered, helping guests find the best color, and executing services with perfection.

The Madison Reed Assistant Colorist is knowledgeable about consultations, hair care products, shampooing, conditioning, blowouts, and the subscription programs. The role involves connecting with guests and team members, maintaining a clean environment, and supporting each other. This position is in training for promotion to Licensed Colorist within 3-9 months. #livelifecolorfully

This role reports to the Manager and can be full or part-time, depending on business needs, with availability during peak times.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop teamwork skills to provide a guest experience aligned with our values of Love, Joy, Trust, Courage, and Responsibility.
  • Assist in services such as shampooing, conditioning, styling, blowouts, treatments, toners, and product applications.
  • Help achieve sales goals, including retail, services, and memberships.
  • Maintain cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and security standards.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Increase revenue through additional services and product sales.
  • Participate in training to master color theory and application skills, progressing towards becoming a Licensed Colorist.

Physical Demands: Standing, walking, bending, twisting, manipulating fingers and hands, and occasionally sitting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, lifting, pushing, or pulling up to ten pounds. Regular communication with guests is required.

Qualifications:
  • Active cosmetology license in the applying state.
  • Entry-level experience in customer service or retail; salon experience preferred.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort with operating point-of-sale systems.
  • Fluency in English.
