SanMar in Issaquah, WA seeks a Colorist to ensure consistent color across product lines from development through finished production. You will manage color approvals, coordinate with Product Development, Sourcing, Merchandising, and the international supply base to deliver color-accurate products.

The role requires a textile background, color expertise, and strong collaboration skills. Hybrid work from our Eastpointe office with travel as needed and a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in textiles, clothing, merchandising or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in product development, merchandising, textiles, international vendor management.
• Experience with textile coloration techniques/limitations of dyeing and finishing.
• Experience in color management is preferred.
• Experience with the use of spectrophotometer and supporting color software.
• Color proficiency to a superior level (Munsell Hue color test).
• Experience/knowledge of textiles, apparel, and/or accessory product development/sourcing/testing/merchandising.
• Ability to communicate clearly using color terminology.
• Ability to build relationships with cross-functional and international teams.
• Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills.
• Strong decision-making capabilities.

Responsabilités

• Manage color submissions from multiple suppliers across product categories with precision.
• Make critical pass/fail decisions impacting products.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to improve color approval processes.
• Guide Product Development/Sourcing and Merchandising to timely color delivery.
• Manage vendor relationships to meet color quality and delivery timelines.
• Create and update color tracking records and share data.
• Define and maintain standardized color management procedures.
• Maintain lab dips and color standards, supply to suppliers.
• Organize on-site color onboarding for suppliers and continuous improvement plans.
• Travel to suppliers as needed for development and training.
• Provide color training to associates as required.
