Job description

Location: Boulder, Colorado (Full time, in-office)
About Greenhouse

Greenhouse identifies the most inspiring young leaders from under-resourced communities, surrounds them with a powerful community, and works together for life to fuel transformational change from within. We are a movement of changemakers, transforming the cycle of opportunity across the country. With 20 years of proven results, we are scaling our impact with great momentum and urgency. Our values are leadership, community, relentlessness, and accountability. We are a non-profit that operates more like a for-profit.

About this role

We are looking for a dynamic, results-oriented professional to manage and scale our Colorado community of annual and mid-level individual donors (contributions up to $5,000). This position focuses on high-volume, systematic outreach to steward these relationships and build trust. You will prioritize donor retention and annual giving by customizing interactions and growing these relationships over time.

Reporting directly to the Colorado Relationship and Community Director, you will play a vital role in helping manage our large Colorado donor base. Your focus will be ensuring hundreds of individual donors feel deeply connected to our mission.

This job might be for you if…

You thrive in a fast-paced, high-outreach environment and enjoy building relationships via phone, email, video, and in person. You listen carefully, understand what people value, anticipate their preferences, and deliver. You are by nature a persuasive person with the ability to envision a solution, get others on board with your ideas, and execute to achieve them. You seek out people from different backgrounds or divergent worldviews, and you help them create meaningful connections with our program. You are highly organized, comfortable managing a large portfolio of accounts, and love using data to drive your daily outreach strategy.

Responsibilities include
  • Develop trust, confidence, and strong rapport with a portfolio of 300+ individual donors in Colorado contributing up to $5,000 annually.
  • Maintain a relentless focus on donor retention and increasing annual giving within this portfolio by 30% year-over-year.
  • Partner with leadership to optimize and increase our volunteer-to-donor conversion rates, owning the day-to-day engagement initiatives that turn passionate volunteers into financial supporters.
  • Manage a high volume of donor touchpoints with an ownership mentality, using phone, email, and digital tools to deliver customized, meaningful interactions.
  • Communicate about Greenhouse using compelling stories, examples, and data consistent with our brand strategy to inspire each donor audience.
  • Connect supporters with the ideal giving and engagement pathways by matching their personal philanthropic goals with the organization’s strategic needs to develop a sustainable, long-term partnership.
  • Write, format, and edit high-quality presentations, proposals, and impact reports that convey Greenhouse’s mission in a professional, clear, and inspiring manner.
  • Identify and cultivate referrals from current annual supporters to steadily expand your Colorado donor base.
  • Maintain meticulous, up-to-date donor records and interaction history within Salesforce to ensure accurate tracking of the relationships and annual giving pipeline.
The ideal candidate will:
  • A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is mandatory
  • Have 4-7 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, account management, or high-volume customer success
  • Establish trust and build long-term, high-quality relationships for the organization

  • Be positive, engaging, and entrepreneurial
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, presentation, and follow-up skills
  • Have strong attention to detail, especially regarding written proposals and reports
