Job summary

State of Colorado's Colorado Department of Public Safety is seeking a semi-operational Central Records Technician to assist with maintenance, retrieval, retention and destruction of agency records. You will learn to process records requests, manage confidential information, and coordinate with law enforcement partners.

The role supports hybrid work arrangements, requires the ability to pass a background check, and offers a structured development path within a dedicated records unit.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional records management experience handling confidential or sensitive information.
• Combination of related education and/or relevant professional records management experience equal to two years.
• If education is substituted for work experience, provide unofficial transcript with your application.
• Preferred qualifications include managing confidential law enforcement records, editing audio/video, redacting media, and proficiency with Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Records Management: learn confidential administrative work involving input, retrieval, update and filing of records; handle various document formats; respond to records requests and collect fees.
• Liaison: communicate with internal and external partners; attend hearings and provide accurate testimony; acknowledge community diversity.
