Hallmark Cards, Inc. in Leavenworth, Kansas is seeking a Printing Operator on the 2nd or 3rd shift to support the Leavenworth Production Center.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months successful experience as a Merit 17 Print Apprentice or 1 year experience running equipment at various operator levels or equivalent external experience
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Ability to lift 25-50 lbs frequently, 50-100 lbs occasionally
• Ability to stand and walk 95% of the time
• Ability to reach, twist, bend, and perform repetitive hand/wrist motion
• Ability to work in awkward/cramped/difficult positions
• Ability to work at or above shoulder level and in awkward positions
• Ability to pass a color perception test
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Preferred: 2+ years general machine experience
• Prior printing experience preferred
• Knowledge of inks/color and reproduction quality
• Strong mechanical and computer skills
• Problem-solving on technical issues

Responsibilities

• Assist with troubleshooting equipment and print issues to meet customer standards
• Help determine press speed for efficient operation
• Set up the press with correct components and adjustments to achieve color targets with minimal waste
• Fill in for Lead Printing Operator during absences and run press during breaks
• Perform preflight checks, sampling, and remove salvage/spoilage
• Prepare shipping paperwork and ensure production data accuracy, complete TPMs and press maintenance
