Job summary

Würth Wood Group is seeking a Color Lab Technician (Tint Specialist) to join our Elkridge, MD team. This role focuses on producing accurate color matches for custom cabinetry and architectural millwork, while maintaining consistency across stains, coatings, and finishes.

New hires receive structured onboarding and ongoing training in color development, finishing products, and troubleshooting, with opportunities to grow within the branch and support customers by phone or in person.

Qualifications

• Experience with paint tinting or color matching is preferred but not required.
• Retail tinting experience in home improvement, hardware, or paint environments is encouraged.
• Strong eye for color, attention to detail, and willingness to learn color formulation processes.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn order-processing and inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Produce 3–6 custom color matches per day with remixes and adjustments.
• Mix stains, lacquers, and finishing products to customer specs.
• Maintain color accuracy across repeat orders and custom formulations.
• Use Corob tint dispensing system to dispense products and record formulations.
• Utilize a spectrophotometer to assist with color development and matching.
• Prepare 1-gallon and 5-gallon batches as needed.
• Maintain records of formulas, adjustments, remixes, and completed orders.
• Process and track orders and inventory using Agility/DMSI.
