Job summary

MillerKnoll is seeking a dedicated wood finishing technician to support production of standard and special finishing materials. You will collaborate with shop floor teams, quality, sales, and marketing to ensure workmanship aligns with company standards and customer expectations.

Responsibilities include safety advocacy, stain matching, material evaluation, and training production staff in finishing methods. This role emphasizes teamwork and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent and/or proven performance.
• 2+ years of relevant production wood finishing experience.
• Ability to perceive color accurately per standards.
• Training in wood finishing lab procedures.
• Willing to work off-shift hours as needed.
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Advocate safe and environmentally friendly finishing practices on the shop floor.
• Create stain matches as requested by database administrator or sales/marketing.
• Evaluate materials upon arrival before release to production.
• Inspect discrepant materials and apply corrective actions.
• Manage production of marketing samples and quality reference materials.
• Provide training to Production Staff on material application and finishing techniques.
• Verify inventories for standard and special finish materials.
