Job summary

Qualifications

Primary Purpose

Provide instruction and coach students to develop skills and ability to excel in color Guard and Winter Guard. Contribute to education program as a whole and to growth of students involved in Color Guard and Winter Guard programs.

Qualifications

Education/Certification

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED, plus:


• Two years of study at an institution of higher education totaling 48 hours, or


• Associates Degree, or


• Passing score on the \"Paraprofessional Assessment of Competencies\" exam, to be administered by Alvin ISD

Valid Texas Education Aide Certificate (obtainable through Alvin ISD when hired)

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Dance Training


• Color Guard Training


• Basic Computer skills


• Able to read or understand music


• Understanding of UIL rules and regulations

Experience

• 3 years Color Guard Teaching at minimum


• Texas Color Guard Circuit and Winter Guard International experience


• Drum Corps International experience (teaching or performance)


• Bands of America experience
