Job summary

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD is looking for a part-time Color Guard Aide to assist the band director in preparing and teaching routines, managing the color guard program, and supervising students. • Experience working with children. Experience in teaching and performing with color guard equipment.
• Flexible and able to adjust daily routine; ability to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends.
• Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate a professional appearance and attitude.
• Physically able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds.

Terms Of Employment

187 days - comprised of full days for staff development and half days for remainder of contract year

Salary/Pay Grade

$10,785 – IP 2 as approved by the Board of Trustees

Essential Functions

• Assist band director with preparing and teaching color guard routines and marching drill.
• Help with administration of band and color guard program.
• Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of guard equipment and uniforms.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Conduct instructional exercise assigned by the band directors; work with individual students or small groups.
• Help supervise students both during the school day and outside of school hours as assigned.
• Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
• Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
• Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned.
• Maintain reliable and regular attendance.
• Assist in recruiting color guard members.
• Attend extra practices, performances, contests, and games as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the director, principal or other school personnel supervisor.
