Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Colo Physical Security Engineer [Architect] to lead security design for Colocation data centers in the Americas. You will work with Architects, Engineers, and Vendors to implement secure, cost-effective DC facilities and communicate requirements across internal teams and partners.

The role requires strong knowledge of physical security concepts, CPTED awareness, and the ability to manage multiple projects with travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of physical security engineering experience in industrial or commercial facilities
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
• Experience working with and managing third party vendors and consultants

Responsibilities

• Lead designs (construction drawings and specifications) for physical security elements for Colo DC projects
• Collaborate with AWS security organizations to develop design standards and evaluate risk/benefits
• Communicate conceptual designs to internal and external stakeholders and consultants
• Participate in maintenance of basis of design documents, prototype design, and template specifications
• Create security design scope of work for Colo DC project RFPs
• Review and direct the work of Colo physical security engineering design consultants
• Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction review, up to 50%
