Job summary

BodyWorks by Murray Motors / BMW of Denver Downtown, part of the Sonic Automotive family, is hiring a Service Technician/Mechanic in a fast-paced collision repair environment. The role focuses on diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, suspension, and drivetrain systems on collision-damaged vehicles, with emphasis on safety and adherence to manufacturer specifications.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in automotive tech, strong diagnostic skills, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional automotive technician experience; collision/body shop experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues accurately and efficiently.
• Experience using automotive diagnostic tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, suspension, steering, brake, and drivetrain components on collision-damaged vehicles.
• Inspect vehicles for hidden mechanical damage and identify additional repairs needed.
• Remove, replace, and reinstall mechanical components as required for collision repairs.
• Perform diagnostic testing using scan tools and other automotive equipment.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures and dealership quality and safety standards.
• Document completed repairs and communicate additional repair needs to the Body Shop Manager or appropriate team members.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while completing repairs efficiently and accurately.

Education

ASE or I-CAR certifications (preferred)
