Job summary

BodyWorks by Murray Motors / BMW of Denver Downtown, part of the Sonic Automotive family, is hiring a Collision Mechanic for a full-time, on-site role in Denver. Expect $30.00 to $40.00 per flat rate hourly, with opportunities for growth through training and certification support.

The position focuses on diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, suspension, steering, and drivetrain components in collision-damaged vehicles, following OEM procedures and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of automotive technician experience; collision/body shop preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair issues accurately and efficiently.
• Experience using automotive diagnostic tools and equipment.
• ASE or I-CAR certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, suspension, steering, brake, and drivetrain components on collision-damaged vehicles.
• Inspect vehicles for hidden mechanical damage and identify additional repairs needed.
• Remove, replace, and reinstall mechanical components as required for collision repairs.
• Perform diagnostic testing using scan tools and other automotive equipment.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures and dealership quality and safety standards.
• Document completed repairs and communicate additional repair needs to the Body Shop Manager or appropriate team members.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while completing repairs efficiently and accurately.
