Job summary

Select Collision Group in Memphis is seeking a Collision Tear Down Technician to repair vehicles per estimates and established quality standards, removing damaged parts and installing replacements. You will restore body panels and structural components using specialized tools, read job orders, and collaborate with management on repairs, while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–3 years of collision repair experience or completion of a technical school or apprenticeship program.
• Knowledge of vehicle repair processes and manufacturer repair procedures.
• Able to read and work from job orders and estimates with little supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to use a frame machine.
• I-CAR welding certification preferred.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-production environment.
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
• Able to bend, kneel, squat, crouch, and reach in tight or confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Repair vehicles according to the estimate and established quality standards, including removing damaged parts and installing replacements.
• Restore body panels, structural components, and outer body parts to pre-accident condition using specialized tools and equipment.
• Communicate with management regarding additional repairs needed, potential delays, or changes to promised completion times.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and operate all equipment safely.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards at all times.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment, including eye protection.
• Assist team members with repair and vehicle preparation as needed based on schedule and workload.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations governing body shop operations, including hazardous waste disposal.
