Job summary

Select Collision Group in Memphis, TN seeks an experienced automotive body technician to repair vehicles per estimates and quality standards. You will restore panels and structural components, use frame equipment, and maintain a clean, safe work area while following regulatory guidelines.

The role requires reading job orders, attention to detail, and ability to work under a fast-paced environment. I-CAR welding certification is preferred; strong teamwork and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years collision repair experience or completion of a technical program.
• Knowledge of vehicle repair processes and manufacturer procedures.
• Able to read and work from job orders and estimates with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Able to use a frame machine.
• I-CAR welding certification preferred.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-production environment.
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
• Able to bend, kneel, squat, crouch, and reach in tight spaces.

Responsibilities

• Repair vehicles according to the estimate and established quality standards, including removing damaged parts and installing replacements.
• Restore body panels, structural components, and outer body parts to pre-accident condition using specialized tools and equipment.
• Communicate with management regarding additional repairs needed, potential delays, or changes to promised completion times.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and operate all equipment safely.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards at all times.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment, including eye protection.
• Assist team members with repair and vehicle preparation as needed based on schedule and workload.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations governing body shop operations, including hazardous waste disposal.
