Job summary

Daemen University seeks a dedicated Strength and Conditioning Coach to elevate varsity performance through evidence-based training, periodization, and sport-specific programs. You will collaborate with coaches, sports medicine, and staff to optimize athlete readiness and reduce injury risk.

The role requires NSCA CSCS or CSCCA certification, a relevant degree, and the ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed. This is a full-time, on-site position in Amherst, NY.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Health or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Strong time management, interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills.
• Be able to apply a 'team' approach to student-athletic health care.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and use of strength/conditioning standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate instruction of student-athletes in strength & conditioning.
• Plan and supervise workouts and equipment usage.
• Motivate and support student-athletes.
• Monitor effectiveness of programs with Head Coach and Sports Medicine staff.
• Follow best practices for technique, progression, and safety.
• Educate coaches and student-athletes on conditioning to prevent injuries.
• Maintain training records and use electronic systems (TrainHeroic).
• Follow emergency action plans for athletic facilities.
• Ensure equipment functions properly.
• Provide conditioning information to the Daemen University community.
