Job summary

Colby College, located in Waterville, ME, seeks a full-time, 10-month assistant strength and conditioning coach to join the Peak Performance team. Reporting to Dawn Strout, you will develop and manage year-round training programs for intercollegiate athletes.

The role requires CSCS/SCCC certification, CPR/First Aid, and 2+ years of college-level strength coaching experience. Weekend/evening hours and collaboration with sports medicine staff are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience; emphasis in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Physical Education, or Masters Degree in related field preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience in developing and managing sport-specific strength training programs; experience with contact or collision sports preferred.
• Current CSCS or SCCC certification required for duration of employment.
• Current CPR/First Aid certifications required for duration of employment.
• Experience with development and management of strength training programs at the college/university level or related setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage year-round strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes.
• Prescribe exercises and conditioning programs for assigned teams.
• Schedule group and individual sessions with head coaches.
• Demonstrate proper technique and modify as needed.
• Monitor progress using subjective and objective tools.
• Collaborate with coaches, trainers, and Peak Performance staff.
• Support return-to-play protocols with sports medicine staff.
• Ensure adherence to NCAA and NESCAC rules and College policies.
