Job summary

St. Edward's University is seeking an Associate Athletic Trainer / Instructor to join the Athletics Department and Kinesiology faculty. You will coordinate comprehensive medical care for student-athletes—from injury prevention to rehabilitation—while teaching one course per term (3 contact hours) in Kinesiology.

Earned degree and certifications, flexible scheduling, and collaboration with Head Athletic Trainer and interns are key aspects of the role.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, or a related field.
• BOC Certification and Texas State Licensure (or eligibility) and CPR/AED/First Aid certified.
• 3–5 years of athletic training experience.
• Knowledge of NCAA Division II rules/best practices, EMR software proficiency, and excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Supervise prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehab, and return-to-play decisions for assigned teams.
• Manage daily athletic training facility operations, coordinate pre-participation physicals, arrange physician referrals, and oversee NCAA drug testing compliance.
• Instruct 3 contact hours per term (fall and spring) in the Kinesiology Department.
• Supervise assistant athletic trainers and student interns, maintain confidential EMR records, and support departmental administration.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Athletics and/or the Assistant AD for Internal Operations.
