Job summary

St. Edward's University seeks an Associate Athletic Trainer / Instructor to join its Athletics Department and Kinesiology faculty.

Working with the Head Athletic Trainer, you will provide comprehensive medical care for student-athletes—from injury prevention to rehabilitation—while teaching one course per term (3 contact hours) in Kinesiology. Qualifications include a Master’s degree, BOC certification, and 3–5 years of experience; preferred teaching or supervision of students.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, or related field.
  • BOC Certified, Texas State Licensure (or eligibility), CPR/AED/First Aid certified.
  • 3–5 years of athletic training experience.
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division II rules/best practices, EMR software proficiency, and excellent communication.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehab, and return-to-play decisions for assigned teams.
  • Manage daily athletic training facility operations and coordinate medical referrals and NCAA drug testing compliance.
  • Instruct 3 contact hours per term in the Kinesiology Department.
  • Supervise assistants and student interns, maintain confidential EMR records, support department administration.
