Job Description Summary
This role involves the planning, coordination, and implementation of Young Quakers Community Athletics Sports and Penn Sports Performance programs. The position works directly with Penn Sports Performance and Young Quakers staff to provide strength and conditioning and sports programming for both collegiate and youth athletes. Duties include program design and implementation, communication, equipment management, and documentation. The position also requires direct supervision of Penn student-athletes. Programming takes place both on Penn’s campus and at schools in West Philadelphia.

THE NETTER CENTER
Founded in 1992, the Barbara and Edward Netter Center for Community Partnerships is the University's primary vehicle for advancing civic and community engagement at Penn. It brings together the resources and assets of both the University and the wider community to help solve universal problems such as poverty, health inequities, environmental sustainability, and inadequate, unequal education as they are manifested in the University's local geographic area of West Philadelphia and Philadelphia at large. The Netter Center develops and helps implement democratic, mutually transformative, place-based partnerships between Penn and West Philadelphia that advance research, teaching, learning, practice, and service and improve the quality of life on campus and in the community.
The Netter Center’s university-assisted community schools (UACS) is a strategy to educate, engage, empower, and serve all members of the community in which the school is located and engage students (K-16+) in real world, community problem solving. The Agatston Urban Nutrition Initiative (AUNI) is a major component of the University-Assisted Community Schools (UACS) program of the Netter Center for Community Partnerships.
PENN SPORTS PERFORMANCE
The Sports Performance Department, a Center of Excellence in Penn Athletics, is a highly dynamic, interactive, and visible component in which the Strength and Conditioning Department plays a vital role in the development of our student-athletes. Our goal is to positively impact Penn student-athletes and help them reach their highest potential physically and mentally, reduce risk of injury, and create an unrivaled experience. All staff members will contribute to this goal by educating, inspiring, empowering, and growing their respective student-athletes and teams.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree, CSCS certification and CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience specifically engaging a range of K12 youth in sports and fitness activities. Experience working in a collegiate-level strength and conditioning program is also highly preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience in urban education, supervision, program management and evaluation. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and foster high quality connections and relationships is critical. Must be collaborative, flexible, and work productively with many groups. Must be able to engage in sports and fitness activities, stand for long periods of time, and lift heavy objects.

Job Location - City, State: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Department / School: School of Arts and Sciences.
Pay Range: $7.25 - $18.00 Hourly Rate.
Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job’s level. Internal organization and peer data at Penn are also considered.
