Job summary

Texas Southmost College (TSC) is hosting AmeriCorps members to boost access to campus resources and engagement in activities and academic support services in Brownsville, Texas. Members will work with students and Transition Coaches to create educational plans and guide dual enrollment participants.

They will support registration, academic planning, and campus navigation, aiming to improve fall-to-spring and fall-to-fall persistence rates through direct mentoring and outreach activities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students.
• Ability to create educational plans and set academic goals.
• Strong communication and follow-up with high school students.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with high school students to increase engagement in campus activities.
• Support Transition Coaches in helping on-campus and high school students.
• Assist with dual enrollment information, programs, and campus resources.
• Plan outreach activities and events to promote participation and persistence.
