Job summary

Texas Southmost College (TSC) will host AmeriCorps members through the AmeriCorps Texas grant to increase communication about and access to campus resources and support, and to boost engagement in campus activities and academic support services in Brownsville, Texas.

During the first program year, AmeriCorps members will aim to raise fall-to-spring persistence to 75% and fall-to-fall persistence to 63%, while supporting food pantry and community garden initiatives and coordinating outreach like

Responsibilities

• Serve in the Food Pantry and Community Garden to increase communication about and access to campus resources and support.
• Help students access basic needs through distribution of food at the TSC food pantry and community garden.
• Organize and manage food distribution events and ensure efficient and equitable distribution of resources.
