Job summary

Washington College, located in Chestertown, MD, is seeking a full-time assistant softball coach to support the head coach in all aspects of running a competitive program.

Responsibilities include on-field coaching, practice planning and video analysis, mentoring student athletes, recruiting, fundraising and assisting with game management as needed. Collegiate playing/coaching experience and leadership skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Collegiate playing and coaching experience preferred.
• Background in pitching instruction preferred.
• Excellent communication, organization and leadership skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• On field coaching and player development.
• Assist with practice planning, game preparation and video analysis.
• Support academic, emotional and social well-being of student athletes by providing mentorship and leadership.
• Identification and recruitment of qualified prospective student-athletes.
• Development and advancement of softball program through fundraising, social media, community service, etc.
• Assist the athletic department with game management or other duties as assigned.
