Job summary

New Economics For Women (NEW) invites applications for a College Corner Tutor. This part-time role supports middle and high school students in academics and personal development, acting as an ambassador for NEW's mission of creating economic mobility through education and services.

The tutor will provide tutoring, enrichment activities, and guidance on higher education, with a focus on student growth, self-advocacy, and engagement with families and schools.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills essential for interacting with youth, parents, and team members.
• Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheets (MS Word, Excel, Access) for documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring to middle school and high school students according to curriculum.
• Assist students to improve academic performance and address areas of difficulty.
• Organize and lead enrichment activities to spark interest in higher education.
• Promote higher education by guiding career options and educational pathways.
• Engage with students, parents, and school staff to maintain participation and alignment with NEW's mission.
• Assist with intake assessments and make referrals to additional resources as needed.
• Maintain communication with families to track progress and address needs.
