Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Pharr, Texas, seeks tutors to work with students in the Road to and Through College classrooms. You will focus on specific objectives, provide guidance, and deliver one-on-one attention during school hours.

Qualifications

• Education: 48 college credits with a 2.5 GPA or two years of K‑12 instructional experience may substitute for the education requirement.
• Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior; strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate tutoring sessions and use technology to assist learning and manage tasks.
• Implement a clear behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Contribute to a positive school culture and productive learning environment.
• Develop trust-based relationships with students and families.
• Identify concepts to teach or retouch from student notes and discussions.
• Familiarize with RTTC Libraries and textbooks used by students.
• Conduct tutorials in math and science or language arts/history.
• Support writing processes across subjects, including brainstorming and revision.
• Collaborate with College counseling team on student progress.
