Job summary

El Centro de Ayuda is seeking a College Corner Worker to guide students in grades 6-12 through college navigation, goal setting, and individualized service planning. The role emphasizes supporting low-income, first-generation youth with tutoring and resource referrals.

The position requires enrollment in post-secondary education, bilingual communication, and collaboration with teachers, families, and community partners to promote college access and success.

Qualifications

• Must have experience volunteering with other community-based or education programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in tutoring and working with diverse communities.
• Clear a National Criminal History Check.

Responsibilities

• Conduct an initial pre-screening assessment to determine program eligibility and suitability.
• Perform a comprehensive customer assessment and develop an Individual Customer Service Plan.
• Assist customers with college admissions information, FAFSA aid and fee waivers.
• Provide tutoring/mentoring services to middle/high school students and monitor transcripts.
