Job summary

The City University of New York is seeking a College Laboratory Technician to support Mathematics and Computer Science instruction and to run the Al Innovation Lab. The CLT will split time between departmental labs and the AI hub, ensuring access, software, and hardware readiness for students and instructors.

Responsibilities include maintaining labs, configuring software, enabling AI/ML work, coordinating workshops, ordering supplies, and supervising student assistants while upholding safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with minimum four years' related experience; Associate or Bachelor's degree may substitute.
• Experience maintaining computer laboratories and instructional technology.
• Familiarity with AI/ML computing environments, GPUs, and Linux/Windows administration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mathematics departmental computing lab and testing/tutoring spaces; manage online homework systems; install and update software; update faculty computers.
• Manage Al Innovation Lab daily operations: open access, GPUs, servers, networking; configure AI/ML environments; coordinate workshops; manage fabrication equipment.
• Train and supervise student aides; enforce lab safety and hygiene standards.
